Waterloo came up just short of beating Hamilton in the home and home series losing 6 - 3.
The boys had jump in their step throughout the first period while keeping Hamilton outside of the blue line. There were several nice passing plays that nearly ended up in Hamilton's net. Waterloo aggressively attacked the Huskies and it finally paid off with .01 seconds left in the period. Ryder Murphy picked the pocket of the Hamilton defense and wristed a shot on net. The puck squirted out under the arm of the goalie where Nathan Edwards was patiently waiting to tuck it in.
The Wolves took the lead 30 seconds into the second on a spectacular give and go from Theo Wolfe over to Jake Millington. Jake squirted his way between the defenders to fire the puck just above the pads of the Hamilton goalie.
Late in the third, Nathan picked up his second goal of the game. There was a scrum for the puck in front of Hamilton's net allowing Nathan to jump on it as it squirted out. Nathan lifted the puck top shelf bringing his team one goal closer to the tie.
Mitchell McIntosh took home the hardest work bucket for his aggressive fore-checking and causing several turnovers in the neutral zone.
Good luck against Burlington on Sunday
