This weekend our boys experienced their first ‘away’ tournament at the Georgina Silver Stick.  Despite a hard-to-take result whereby we didn’t make it to the semi-finals with our 2-1-0 record, it was an awesome weekend and our boys played incredibly well in closely matched games.

On Friday, against the Belleville Bulls, Belleville took a 2-0 lead but the boys came back to tie it 2-2, eventually losing 4-2 in a hard-fought game.  The boys kept up their spirits, discussed some new offensive strategies and won their Saturday morning game 3-2 against the Orillia Terriers.  With a long break, the boys returned to the rink for a dinner time game against the Georgina Blaze.  They took an early 2-0 lead but Georgina came back with five straight goals to lead 5-2.  With a two-man advantage, the boys capitalized on power play opportunities to get it back to a close 5-4 and then dug even deeper to battle out a 6-5 win!
The weekend play was celebrated with a family team pizza party and a mini-stick tournament where players, coaches, and families were all congratulated on an awesome weekend.

In the coming week, our Wolves have just one practice on Thursday at 5pm at RIM (Pillars).  Next Saturday the boys have their team Christmas party at 1:30 at the YMCA (do not wear Wolf pants – they do not get along well with the gym floor!) and then a game in Burlington at 4pm next Sunday.

Go Wolves Go!!
