Tuesday Nov 6th 20011- Waterloo vs Cambridge at the Cambridge Ice pad
Well our first official game as a team! It was quite a night with spectators wading their way through the trenches and ducking beneath cloudy, half height glass to cheer on the team. The conditions proved to be rather challenging both on and off the ice, but the team worked well with their passing, striving to be the first to the puck and hitting the net hard. Both teams had Multiple scoring opportunities. Cambridge opened the scoring in the second period, the battle continued into 3rd when Waterloo scored their 1st goal at 9:09 by player #7, asst. by #44, soon after Cambridge added 2 quick goals @ 7:54 & 7:32, that didn’t stop Waterloo, at 7:07 player #88, asst. by #7 brought Waterloo with in one goal of Cambridge. At 5:40 – player #9, asst. by 10 & 27 tied the game. Waterloo played hard down to the last second, almost winning the game when player #27 banged the puck into the Cambridge net as horn Sounded! The golden MVP bucket went to our goalie, #31 for staying strong threw the entire game. Overall, a tremendous effort from the team, a great turn out from the fans and a fabulous start to the season. Happy Birthday to #13s Mom who spent her BD night in the arena, also a big thank you for creating the name cards for the team/families.
