Schlueter Hyundai vs. Libro Doubleheader
This past weekend Schlueter Hyudai (6-0-4) played in two highly competitive games against Libro (5-3-3), coming out of the weekend with a win and a tie.

The two teams started the weekend off with a hard fought tie on Friday night.  Schlueter started the game off quickly when Davis, Flanders, and J. DeMers were able to score a minute and a half into the game.  The lead would be short lived though, as Libro tied the game only a minute and a half later.

However, before the end of the first period Dietrich, Noble, and Davis were able to score to restore the one goal lead.  The score would stay that way until late in the second period as Libro tied the game and the seesaw battle continued.

The third period saw lots of offensive chances coming from the entire team including the line of Horvath, Anderson, and Wigmore-Lopez who had many glorious offensive opportunities.  Neither team was able to score another though, and the game ended as a 2-2 tie.

Domaratzki and Jones had a great game on defense, including a couple of offensive rushes.  Steffler and Garland along with Brookes and Haney had a great defensive game holding a potent offense who had scored 26 goals this season to only two.  The defense as a whole have improved greatly, cutting down the opponents quality scoring chances.

C. DeMers played his usual solid game in net, keeping his goals against average at 1.78.

The two teams would get off to a slower start on Saturday morning.  Libro would not score the first goal of the game until the half way point of the second period.

Schlueter would play a much better third though as Davis, Duquette, and J. DeMers scored two minutes in to tie the game.  Flanders, Noble, and Davis would then score with just under three minutes remaining to take a 2-1 lead, which would prove to be the final score.

The line of Wigmore-Lopez, Horvath and Anderson once again played very well, and they look poised to break out offensively.

The defense pairs played well especially considering it was necessary to change up the pairings and have a few forwards make the move back to the point.  Haney and Steffler played a sound defensive game which was needed out of the only pair including two natural defensemen.  Garland and Brookes as well as Jones and Dietrich did not look out of place, playing like they had been together all season.

C. DeMers played for his sixth victory in net, allowing one goal or less for the sixth time in ten games.
