Down, But Not Defeated!
Pumped and ready to go! The Wolves took to the ice with one thing on their minds...a win. However, at the end of the first period Waterloo had a battle on their hands. Down by two, they would need to have two solid periods of hockey to earn the win.
The Wolves showed great determination and drive, never giving up, and stepping it up to help put some points on the board. D Eamer, #22 started things off with an unassisted goal early in the second period. This gave Waterloo the push they needed. Defence picked it up a notch, to clear the puck, eliminating scoring opportunities for Brantford. At the end of the second period the Wolves still had a deficit, with a score of 2-1 for the 99ers. However, early in the third, #68 Arnold teamed up with #4 Beckner to tie things up. Now the pressure was really on. The Wolves were hungry for this victory and were about to give it their all. As we approached the final five minutes of the game, #19 Bosomworth snuck one past the Brantford goalie giving Waterloo the lead. For the remaining minutes of the game the Wolves would need to play as a team and as the buzzer went they knew that they had fought hard to earn the win for this evening. Well done players and coaches! And a big thank you to the fans who cheered the team on to victory.
