Minor Atom AAA Wolves Sweep 99ers!
Your Waterloo Minor Atom AAA Wolves completed a 3 game sweep of the Brantford 99ers with a 4-2 Valentine's Day win at the Wayne Gretzky Centre. The 3 game
series saw Waterloo dominate play on both ends of the ice out scoring the 99ers 14-5 and out shooting them 71-30. Throughout the series, our goalies held strong as Brantford tried to battle back.
Waterloo took the first game 3-2. This was a tight battle but Waterloo showed what has brought the boys together over the last 5 weeks playing a team game.
In the second game, Waterloo put together as complete a game as any this year beating Brantford 7-1. The team approach on both ends of the ice was evident by outshooting Brantford more than 3 to 1 with 7 different Waterloo players scoring a goal.
In game 3, a 4-2 win, again we saw 4 different players score with Waterloo out shooting the 99ers 24-14. And what has been evident for the last several weeks, Waterloo scored 3 short handed goals demonstrating their persistence in play.
The series sweep over Brantford continues an impressive run for the Minor Atoms seeing the team achieve a 8-1-1 record in league play since January 8th. Adding in the Nations Cup Championship win in Ann Arbor Michigan, the Minor Atom AAA boys have an impressive 11-3-1 record in their last 15 games.
Congratulations to the 17 boys and the coaches on the playoff series win and for demonstrating what you can do as a TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More!
