Preston International AA Finalists
The Major Atom AA Hockey Club completed their final tournament of the season this weekend participating in the Preston International.

In our previous tournaments this season the boys have enjoyed great team success. This past weekend was no different as the boys made the finals for their 3rd straight tournament.
The weekend started off with the team playing 3 games on Friday against some tough AA competition in Vaughan, West Ferris & Mississauga.
At the end of the day Friday the boys came out with a 1-0-2 record. With a day off Saturday there was another game to be played Sunday morning VS Sudbury.
The Sunday morning game turned out to be pivotal as the winner would gain a birth in the final against the Vaughan Panthers.

The team would take some time to get their feet moving but once they did there was no looking back. The boys earned a well deserved 4-1 victory to earn that spot in the final.

The finals took place at the Cambridge Mall with many friends and families making the trip to cheer our boys on. Both teams put on a show as the game remained scoreless through regulation as well as the 1st over time period of 4 on 4.
The game continued into the 2nd over time playing 3 on 3 where Vaughan would catch a break and score the only goal of the game.

Regardless of the outcome the effort the boys came up with in the final felt like a victory. Congrats to your boys for another outstanding showing and representing this team with great class & sportsmanship.

Well deserved boys
