Wolves Conquer Buckeye Classic
This past weekend the Wolves made the short drive to Columbus Ohio for the Buckeye Classic and Blue Jackets experience, finishing a perfect 4 and 0 to capture the Championship. The boys should be very proud of they represented their team and the City of Waterloo.
As part of trip the boys and their families were treated to various extra-curricular events courtesy of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The events included a tour of Nationwide Arena home of the Blue Jackets. One of the cool things the Blue Jackets have is a High School Hockey Hall, where they hang the jerseys of all the Ohio State High School teams.
The boys then got to witness a Blue Jackets team practice where the watched in awe of the hard work these players and coaches put in.
After a hearty lunch at Buca di Beppo, the players and families were able to have a tour of the dressing room, where they had a question and answer session with Columbus Blue Jackets staff.
On Saturday Night the Blue Jackets experience was topped of by watching Columbus drub New Jersey Devils 5-0. The boys were able to watch the from a Luxury Suite. The Blue Jackets sure did treat them with class, and our boys stayed very classy themselves. A very big thank you to Kathryn and her Columbus Blue Jackets staff and tour guides.
On the ice the Wolves were very successful also as they finished the tournament 4 and 0, defeating some very tough teams from USA Hockey.
