October 2 vs. London Jr. Knights White
Back home at RIM on Sunday, the Wolves played host to the favored Jr. Knights White team.

The Wolves went on the penalty kill right away and London capitalized on this chance, making it 1-0 at 9:21. The Wolves goalie played sharp, making some huge saves keeping the boys in it early in the game. The Wolves had some great chances including a great shot forcing the London goalie to flash that leather, making a great glove save. The Wolves goalie responded with his own beautiful save at 2:03, stopping London as they tried to fake him out on a cross-seam pass.

Down 1-0 as the second period opened, it didn’t take long for the Wolves to tie it up at 13:19. The Wolves were shooting, they were trying hard, but couldn’t get past the amazing glove of the London goaltender. The Knights scored a couple of quick ones and the Wolves had close calls but just couldn’t penetrate the invisible force field around London’s net. London struck again as the second period neared the end, and the Wolves were down 4-1 going into the third.

The boys took advantage of a power play at 9:41 and made it 4-2. Not ready to give up yet, the Wolves charged on. The Wolves D shot a rocket from the blue line to get the game within reach at 3:44. The 4-3 score had the crowd on the edge of their seats, but the Knights were also not ready to give up. They went up 5-3 with just over three minutes left in the game. They tried again during a scramble in front of the Waterloo net, but the Wolves goalie smothered the puck quickly to save the day. With an empty net, the boys lined up in the London end. They got some quick shots off in the final minutes and kept the pressure on, but at the end of the day, they couldn’t beat that fantastic glove.

Great effort, Wolves!
