Lucky Number 6?
6-2, 6-0, 6-4, 6 point weekend, and only 6 goals against. Weird coincidences! ATOMc Green had a busy and successful weekend of entertaining hockey.

The boys worked hard all weekend and were rewarded with 3 victories while playing some very inspired and smart hockey. There was a "never quit" attitude displayed in each game (especially Sunday!) that I am sure each and every parent is quite proud of. Our weekend started with a tough match against AtoMc Blue who battled right to the end but fortunately ATOMc GREEN hung in there for the 6-2 win. Sebastian D.-B. was "Smart Player of the Game" for his strong back checks and his efforts to pass the puck to his forwards. Alex B. had a very strong game stopping the opponents in the middle areas of the ice, winning the puck and then shooting it deep into Blue's end. Saturday's 6-0 win was a perfectly-played game and a real delight to watch as the whole team worked very hard, played smart and tried to do the right things. "Smart Player of the Game" could have went to any number of players but was given to Matthew V. for his highly effective "chip and chase" play to get the puck out of our end and his hard work to keep the puck moving towards the opponent's net. "Mr. Zero" Jack B. also earned his second shutout of the year. Sunday was the toughest game of the weekend since it was our third game, our second 7AM in a row and because of the switch to "the big ice" at the Rec Complex. While it may not have looked like our smartest game of the season, the boys worked really hard and they tried their best to adapt their play to the larger ice surface area. Congratulations to Mason S. who was credited with "Smart Player of the Game" based on his tireless skating effort and his strong and smart heads-up puck-moving at both ends of the ice. Stefano P. also had a great game with consistent skating effort (in the attacking and defending zones) and repeated strong contact hitting the puck. Have a well-deserved week of rest ATOMc GREEN players and families...you earned it!
