Oktoberfest - Thanksgiving Food Drive
The annual Oktoberfest-Thanksgiving Food Drive collected 11000 pounds of food for the Region of Waterloo Food Bank this year! The players and coaches of the Minor Pee Wee Black team would like to thank all parents, family members and fans for your generous food item donations during our games in Waterloo on the weekend of October 11-12, 2014.
During our first team meeting of the year it was agreed that the 2014-15 team focus and theme would be "We before Me." During this meeting we committed to focus on teamwork, unselfish play and activities that allow us to be involved with and give back to the City and neighbourhoods we represent when we wear the Waterloo Wolves Jersey. It was decided that one way to give back was to charge admission to our games on the Thanksgiving Day weekend. The cost of admission to the games was a food item with the food collected going to the Waterloo Region Food Bank. The players were very excited about this initiative and it was a huge success in that "we" were a part of collecting 11 000 pounds of food for those in need in our community. Well Done Boys! Go Wolves Go!
