Minor Peewee Selects ride strong start to 3rd win
The boys came flying out of the gate on this night and never looked back.  Must've been those new uniforms.  Over to you, Curtis...

Hello sports fans, and welcome to tonight's Remembrance Day Classic game in Waterloo where we will see the Wolves play the Milton Winter Hawks for the second time already this season. Milton is looking to even things up after losing to the Wolves in their previous match-up, but this time the Wolves have the home ice advantage and some snappy new jerseys. The Wolves have annointed a new Captain with Justin sporting the "C" on his jersey, along with assistants Ben, Tristan, and Xavier. Xavier, however must have lost his name bar between the couch cushions at home before the game.  (Editor's note:  Dad's fault.)

And now for the game. Waterloo wins the first draw, Xavier makes a hard drive to the net, passes to Tristan, and SCORE! Waterloo puts it in only 9 seconds into it. Milton looks a little dazed from the travel day. Now for the second puck drop, Waterloo wins the draw again, Tristan makes a move down the side, passes to Xavier, and SCORE! Another Waterloo goal, again in 9 seconds. Milton doesn't know what to do with themselves out here, but they'd better get a handle on things soon or the next 9 seconds could seal it for them.

Milton starts getting a little physical now with some rubbing going on in the corners, and they take a penalty for tripping. With a man down, Milton is having a hard time against the Waterloo forwards. Zack takes the puck, long pass to Xavier, Xavier to Tristian, and the shot, and SCORE! Another beauty from a strong Waterloo forward line. Milton is on the ropes here already in the first. They're putting together a solid play in the Waterloo end, and Milton puts one over Emmett's pads and in, making it a 3 - 1 game. Plenty of action here, and there's still loads of time left in the first.

Waterloo takes control in the Milton end. Waterloo is sure passing better than they did in their last practice, where it looked like they couldn't hit the water if they fell out of a boat. Ben takes the puck, slides it to Justin, Justin gets a good piece of it and passes to Curtis and, GOAL! Milton I'm sure wants to start this period over, but clearly they aren't ready to just roll over. Milton flies to the Waterloo end on the left wing, and GOAL! It's a 4 - 2 game and there are no signs of things slowing down.

Things are slowing down here in the second. The stars this period are the Waterloo defensive lines. Ian shoots through some traffic, and a tip falls short. Johnathon makes a high slap shot from the blue line and into the glove. Now we have a scramble in front of the Milton goalie. Everyone's in there, you could throw a blanket over both teams, and we have a whistle for a Waterloo penalty. The Waterloo defense steps up again. Justin and Braden keep it in the Milton end, but no goals come of it.

The third period is underway, with Chris not seeing too much action between the pipes as Waterloo's defense keeps it on the south side. A giveaway now by Waterloo, Milton gets clear and breaks toward the Waterloo end. Chris locks eyes with the opposing player, and a huge blocker save of the high slap shot. Waterloo wastes no time regaining control, Tristan gets pulled down in the corner but musters a flip pass out front to Josh, and GOAL! Josh nails the one-timer.

Milton still not giving up, pushes down to the Waterloo end. Waterloo is tipping back onto their heels, Milton letting them have it, a scramble out front, and GOAL by Milton. Waterloo isn't going to let it go, they win the drop and take it down to the Milton end. Nathan gets a hold of it, doesn't have a clear shot, passes to Spencer, Spencer with the shot, and...GOAL! A real beauty.

There's still 5 minutes to go, but the buzzer goes. Too many whistles, so the game ends at 6 - 3 for Waterloo. Outta time and outta here.
