October Report Card
The Wolves had some highs and lows as they rolled through October. They were undefeated at home, but struggled on the road.
Defensively our back six have been solid on the puck in the offensive zone, winning more than their share of battles at the blue line. Back in our own end we been seeing improvements in positional play. A strong defensive play, with the support of back checking forwards, will only help our goalies who have been playing well, but need additional support clearing out rebounds to keep our opponents off the board.
One of our greatest offensive pluses right now is having a full squad of forwards that can put the puck in the net. Every player is a scoring threat, so pushing the pace and having other teams make mistakes will lead to more scoring opportunities. The biggest need here is consistency and hard work to set the pace early and maintain that through the game.
Not a bad month for the boys leading into their first tournament.
