Please remember that our team is about development and fun for the boys. They will make mistakes and the coaches will undoubtedly make mistakes and decisions that you may not agree with. We would like to ask that we all work together to make this season fun for the boys so they can improve both personally and as a team.
Communicate with each other so that we are a team - parents and children. When the parents are enjoying themselves - the children enjoy themselves even more. As a respresntative team our schedule during the season is a busy one. To help make the season as enjoyable as possible, please:
- Lead by example - do not yell at the officials, opponents or fans of the opposing teams.
- Ensure your son respects the coaches, officials, their teammates and opponents.
- Reward sportsmanship and fair play as much as athletic ability.
- Assure Punctuality.
- Properly equip your son.
- Set realistic goals for and with your son - attitude, improvement, and effort.
- Do not be instructive. This is the coach's job.
- Do not confront or second guess the coaches or officials in front of your child or his teammates - see the coach 24 hours later, away from the players.
- Provide constructive feedback - including any concerns that you or your son may have.
- Educate yourself about the game of hockey - the rules and organization of the game.
