The 2025 – 2026 Waterloo Wolves U11AA/A Program will Compete at all times with emphasis on:

The 2025 – 2026 coaching staff consists of talented and
skilled individuals who will support the development of your athlete! (see coach
Profiles)
The team will be made up of 2 Goalies and 15 Skaters. A team of non-parent evaluators are in place.
The following is the complete list of tryout dates to evaluate your athlete:
Sat. Apr. 26 6:30 – 7:30 pm Tryout AMC - East
Sun. Apr 27 12:00 – 1:30 pm Tryout AMC - East
Mon. Apr 28 6:00 – 7:30 pm Intra - squad (Gold v Black) AMC - East
Tue. Apr 29 4:15 pm (Home) Kitchener Rangers Activa (Alumni Pad)
Thur. May 1 6:30 pm (Away) Kitchener Rangers Activa (PJD)
NOTES:
Releases will be made after each tryout date.
Full attendance is required by your athlete to ensure a complete evaluation.
You MUST BE registered with WMHA to Tryout, No Exceptions. Registration at the rink prior to Tryout will not be offered.

Key Athlete Skills for Roster Success - In order of importance
Forwards - Skating (forward acceleration, agility and balance on skates) - Passing - Shooting - Positional Awareness - Team Play - Scoring.
Defensemen - Skating (backward acceleration, agility and balance on skates) - Passing - Positional Play (gaps in all zones) - Team play - Shooting (Note: Slapshots at this age will be a detriment to a successful roster spot, wrist shots and pucks to the net are being evaluated).
Goaltenders - Footwork - Positioning - Save Selection - Tracking the Puck (eyes).
Tip: **Evaluations will begin when your athlete enters the rink**
Tryout Player Release Process
A list of players advancing in tryouts will be posted on the WMHA website (U11AA/A site page) after each ice time. Please check the website to confirm the status of your child in the tryout process. Only players advancing in the process will be listed.
Roster Spots
IMPORTANT: Roster spots on the 2025-2026 U11AA/A Wolves Team will be offered in keeping with OHF Direction. Therefore, roster spots can be offered on April 26, 2025, and will be considered by this year's staff after the first tryout and throughout the tryouts.
Those being offered roster spots will receive a communication from Head Coach Mike Payne and an email link will be sent to the parent/guardian email address provided in the WMHA Registration. Acceptance of the offer is required within 24 hours of receipt of the email from Head Coach Mike Payne.
Optional player/parent feedback meeting will be available with Head Coach Mike Payne after May 2, 2025.
