One4Another organization and our U12 Wolves has teamed up to support our first round draft pick, a child named John that has a more complicated condition than usual. He's 13 years old. He has a right clubfoot and also a neurological condition probably caused by difficulties in childbirth. His knees have contractures so they don't extend fully and his left foot is pronated so that it is overly flat. He can stand on his own for brief moments but otherwise he needs to use a stick to support himself.
The goal would be to correct the clubfoot and release the contractures of the knees to see if they can get him walking on his own without the use of crutches or a stick. Usually the organization matches teams with kids that have a bit more of a straightforward condition but based on how well we did last year in supporting 2 kids plus care packages for each, One4Another knows that we have the ability to improve this boy's life. His parents say he has always had delayed milestones and have not had the money to have him assessed or treated.
He will need:
- pre operation castings to stretch the right foot
- surgery to lengthen achilles (correct foot position) & possible release of knee contractures
- post operation castings
- walking brace
- physio and possibly full leg braces to extend knees
Being amazing young athletes and even better people, our young Wolves will work to contribute to support John's operation and help him get to being a mobile boy.
