Great Year
It has been a pleasure watching this group of young men learn how to work together and have
FUN.
This team was made up a lot of kids that had not played at a higher level or together. It takes time for a team to grow as the players learn their line mates and learn to trust each other.
These boys learned to play the game as a team and still having FUN, the first big step into becoming a better hockey player.
We took our pilot project 1st year team to the
1/4 finals of the Alliance tournament, losing to a really good Cambridge team that made it to the finals. I believe we showed all the centres how strong an organization we have Waterloo with both of our teams moving on to the finals. We will only be stronger next year as both teams will have returning players which will allow the team to grow faster and stronger.
Thank you for the support from my coaching staff, it is nice to work with a staff that is there for the kids and helping them develop into better young men.
It was a pleasure to see the smiles of all the boys having fun playing the greatest game there is.
I hope everyone has a great summer and I look forward to seeing you in the fall.
