Waterloo Wolves Atom Select Week-End Update
December
2, 2016 saw the team travel to London to partake in the 2016 Dan Pulham
Memorial Tournament.
Friday’s match-ups saw the Wolves do battle against the Thornhill Rebels and the Vaughan Rangers. Game 1 saw the Wolves score early and score often. When the dust finally settled, the Wolves emerged victorious with a 9-1 victory.
Game 2 saw similar results with the Wolves defeating their opponent 7-0. Saturday saw the Wolves playing 2 games against the Unionville Jets and the Durham Crusaders.
Game 3 saw the boys re-energized and they again skated away with a lopsided victory where the final ended up 11-0.
Game 4 saw a complete reversal of fortune. The boys came out flat and before they knew it, the Crusaders handed the Wolves their first loss, a 5-0 loss.
With a round robin record of 3 and 1, the Wolves were able to qualify for a semi-final game against Foresthill. This game provided end to end entertainment with a see-saw battle back and forth. Waterloo fought hard the entire game but time eventually ran out and the boys were on the wrong side of a 3-2 score.
As the scores above indicate, lots of goals were scored and tons of assists -far too plentiful to list here. It was great to see how every player contributed either on the game sheet with a goal and/or an assist or by making a great defensive play.
Great Job Boys!
