Novice Red Comes Up Short in Deciding Game
Submitted By Ken Stark on Tue 03 28, 17
Novice Red fell 3-1 to Cambridge Red in the deciding game of the Tier 3 East/Central Championship.

The big game jitters got the best of the Red Wolves as they came out with a slow start. Cambridge Red would foil a breakout attempt and capitalize in the first minute of the game to take a 1-0 lead.  The Wolves would reply quickly as Emre A. stuffed an equalizing goal at 8:33 to hit restart, but Cambridge Red would regain the lead shortly after on the power play to regain the lead 2-1.  Cambridge would add a short handed goal before the first was over to take a controlling 3-1 lead.

The Red Wolves would be unable to solve the Cambridge Red goalie for the rest of the game despite several chances and a lot of hard work.  Unfortunately, the Wolves had to settle for the silver medals after a season of largely dominating the Tier 3 loop.

As league finalists, the Wolves get a second chance for success at the Alliance Championships in St. Catharines from  April 7-9th.
