Novice Red Finds Stride and Battles Back
Burlington White rolled into the Wolves' den and wrecked havoc for the first period and built up a 3-0 lead. Novice Red looked nervous and intimidated despite Ty B. standing tall and making the first save on numerous chances.
During the first intermission, the coaching staff asked the young Red squad to battle Burlington the way they battled each other at the Zone practice facility earlier in the week. "Sparkplug" Ryder H. would get the Wolves on the board early in the second to make it 3-1 which served as a turning point in the game. The Wolves stopped being hesitant and battled hard for the rest of the game. Wyatt M. would close the gap to 3-2 in the early going of the third and Grayson. S. would jam home a rebound to tie the game at 3-3. The Wolves would pester the Bulldogs for the rest of the game with Daniel L-C keeping the door shut and the defence keeping the Bulldogs penned in on several occasions. Lucas P. took the lunch pail for his relentless pursuit in the offensive zone and Grayson P. received the hard hat for strong pinches to keep.
