Wolves Tie Woodstock Navy Jets 2-2
On Saturday the Waterloo Wolves took on the Woodstock Jr Navy Jets @ RIM Pillars. The Wolves were looking to keep the 5 game winning streak alive.
The 1st period ended scoreless at 0-0 a piece. The Waterloo Wolves had the edge in shots on net 11-6 going into the second period. The team also went 1 for 1 on the Penalty Kill.
Moving into the 2nd period Woodstock put the first point on the board at 13:10. The Wolves answered 3 minutes later when Zachary Brick put a goal in low blocker with an assist from Kyle Schumilas and Jack McMurry. Later in the 2nd period the Wolves gained the lead 2-1 with a goal from Drew Gerth assisted from Carter Buehlow and Samson Walsom.
Unfortunately the Wolves took a couple penalties and were forced to play 5 on 3 with 7 minutes to go. Woodstock was able to score on the 5 on 3 tying the game at 2-2 with 5 minutes left in the second period. Total shots on net in the second period were 10 Wolves - 6 Woodstock.
The 3rd period was scoreless as both teams battled to get the next goal. Shots on net in the 3rd period were 4 Wolves - 8 Woodstock.
The game ended in a 2-2 tie officially ending the 5 game winning streak. The Wolves will look to start the streak again when they played London Knights White tomorrow.
