On Sunday afternoon the Waterloo Wolves took on the London Jr Mustangs White @ RIM Lions. The Wolves were coming off a 2-0 shutout win against the London Jr Mustangs Purple.
The Jr Mustangs White came out strong putting the first goal on the board in the 1st period with 1:05 remaining with a scrambled puck in front of the net. This forced the Wolves to start the 2nd period battling from behind. Total shots on net in the 1st period were 4-3 London.
In the 2nd period the Wolves picked up the pace and cycled the puck in the London zone. At 4:10 Carter Buehlow buried a rebound with a back hand keeping his point streak alive. Assists came from Kyle Bordessa and Jack McMurry. The score was now tied at 1-1 with the shots on net 9-4 Wolves at the end of the 2nd.
After the flood both teams came out hard looking to score the go ahead goal. The Wolves struck first when Kyle Schumilas scored a back door goal with a cross ice pass from Zachary Brick setup by Drew Gerth. This put the Wolves up 2-1 which is where the game ended after 3 periods of play. The shots in the 3rd period were 6-6.
Kyle Schumilas was named player of the game and given the coveted police hat. Kyle was also celebrating his 15th birthday. Happy Birthday Kyle!
