Bellarby Tournament 2014: Silver is GOLD!!!
Going into the Barrie tournament this past weekend, our Wolves knew they'd be up against some pretty tough competition. But they came out silver medal winners. Why? Because of their hard work and committment to the team - both on and off the ice
From Thursday night right through to late Sunday afternoon, the boys enjoyed every minute together. It was a real bonding experience and it showed - on the scoreboard!
Friday morning the Wolves beat the Hamilton Huskies 3-2, and then Friday afternoon they beat the West Hill Goldenhawks with a score of 2-1. Saturday morning we played Sudbury's Nickel City Jr. Sons and lost 6-0. So far in the tournament, this team was undefeated, posting a perfect shut-out every single game. But we played hard and entered the semi-finals as the second best team in our division.
Saturday morning our Wolves played their best game of the season, defeating London Green with a score of 2-0. Tears were shed, and the boys were absolutely ecstatic!
Boys came out hard in the finals against Nickel City Jr. Sons and while we couldn't pull out a win, we did one better - we were the only team in the tournament to score against them! Our Wolves ended their shut-out streak!
In the end, the boys took home silver and coaches and parents couldn't be more proud. Way to go Wolves!
