Tough weekend,but lots of promise
The Waterloo Ice Wolves played their last 2 games of the Tier 1 Play-offs over the weekend and came up short in both games against Kitchener Red and Burlington Bulldogs.

In the Kitchener game, the Ice Wolves found themselves down a goal until Owen Fenton's shot trickled over the goal line to even the game up. Kevin Gruber and Justin Beyer earned the assits on the goal. Cameron Young gave Waterloo the lead, with the help from Ben Tomka-but Kitchener found a way to even the game up.  Then half way through the final period, Kitchener took the lead for good and won by a score of 3-2.
The Bulldogs game saw terrible referring which in the end, determined the 3-2 outcome. Waterloo scored first as Alex Cronin scored off a rebound. Colton Tucker and Connor Olsen assisted on the play. Burlington tied the game up off a deflection, but Waterkloo did not give up. Cameron Young then let a bullet go which went top shelf to give  the Ice vWolves the lead again. Ben Tomka assisted on the play. This is where the officiating went down hill, as Waterloo was given 2 penalties in a row and found themselves  killing penalties off on a regular basis. Burlington capitalized on this and evened the score, then took the lead. The Ice Wolves fought hard and never gave up throughout the game, but could not find the equalizer. The Ice Wolves now wait until the next Sunday to see who they play in the first round of the Playdowns.
