Novice Select Wolves Win Against Brantford 99ers
Submitted By Paul Chin on Sun 02 27, 11
It was a tight game against a fast skating, hard shooting Brantford team. The Wolves were a bit sleepy in the first period giving up a number of shots on net and only getting 1. We got lucky with a bounce from the corner to the front of their net where one of our forwards was waiting to bang it in.  Our goalie was solid in net blocking 3 shots to the top corner with his head, but eventually giving up a goal off a 4th shot off the mask.  That's using his head!

The wolves woke up in the 2nd period and had two more goals by our forwards who were quick to the net.  We managed to carry the lead through the second half of the game and held them to only 2 shots due to some solid defensive plays and strong back-checking.  Our breakout was looking good and our defense was confident carrying the puck behind the net looking for outlets.

Brantford pressed hard and we give up a short-handed goal in the third.  The final few minutes of the third was tense and the clock seems to be in slow motion.  Brantford pulled their goalie, but we were able to keep them mostly out of our zone.

It was a close game with lots of exciting moments.  Way to go Wolves, we're proud of you!
