WATERLOO HOUSE LEAGUE PLAYERS - ARE YOU READY???!!!
ATTENTION: WATERLOO HOUSE LEAGUE (WHL) PLAYERS!!

Are you ready?

Its time to hit the ice!!

Our initial Evaluation Skate(s) schedule is up on our website - you can check it out HERE

If you have a question about the Evaluation Skates, please email the Convener for your players' age group Conveners names and contacts are in the column to the left of the schedule - click on the word EMAIL beside their name to reach out to them.

Here are few tips and reminders:

  • What happens at the Evaluation skate(s) - what can I expect?
The Evaluation Skate is a time to get back on the ice and get the rust off of those skates! We do have Coaches and Volunteers present to watch the ice time(s) with the "goal" of trying to assign our Players to teams to make them as even as possible skill wise and provide the best experience for your Child.

  • What should I bring to the first skate?
Besides a positive attitude...…please bring full equipment and a practice jersey. You will receive a jersey once you are assigned to a team. We will have dressing rooms this Season and can enter the arena 30 minutes before the start of the ice time. A mask is still required once you enter the building and must be worn inside the room until you put your helmet on.
  • What happens after the Evaluation skate(s) - will someone contact us with team information?
Yes! The "goal" (see what we did there) is to have your player assigned to a team, shortly after the Evaluation skates and your Coach will reach out with your team assignment and more information about your schedule.
  • When will we have the full WHL season schedule?
The full season schedule will be posted on the website in the next week.
  • Does my player have to be vaccinated to play with the WHL?
The answer to that question depends on their age - please refer to the ALLIANCE Hockey Vaccination policy for more details, by clicking HERE
  • Can I stay and watch my player skate and watch them play games?
Yes! This season you can watch your player - the City of Waterloo Facilities do have gathering limits; however, we should be able to have spectators at our games and still be within these limits. Spectators over the age of 18, must supply the Arena Security Staff with proof of vaccination, along with identification (ie- health card, drivers license, passport).
  • Do we have to pre-screen for COVID-19 before entering the rinks?
Yes - please screen for yourself and your player (and anyone else attending the practice/game with you). We will have WMHA screening link available soon - in the meantime, please use this screening tool by CLICKING HERE
Please reach out to the Hockey Office at [email protected] or to your Divisional Convener with any questions or concerns.

See you at the rink!!
