Tuesday AM Practices
End TIme for Tuesday AM Practices
Hi Parents,
I just want to provide an update on the end time for our Tuesday AM hockey practices.
At the Parent meeting I indicated that I would be able to stay at the rink until 7:50am for interested players who could stick around. Unfortunately, for those who can stay past the 7:20 am practice end time, I am going to have to switch the extended end time to 7:30am. The following reasons apply:
1) I am the only coach available to be on the ice for this extra time and this would contravene the 2 coach rule for WMHA. If I stay for an additional 10min there are at least other coaches and a trainer available in the dressing room.
2) I do not have my trainer certification, and if a player were to get hurt that would be a real issue for the team and the safety of the players. I have to end the ice time while a trainer is still available.
3) Originally the AM practices were to be at RIM (which is close to my house). The switch to Albert McCormick has increased my travel time to-from the rink and as a coach who is also a parent of a player, I have to get my son home in time to get ready and on the bus for school. The extra 15 min it takes to get to McCormick shortens my available time.
So I apologize for not being to take advantage of the extra ice time as I originally intended. I hope the parents who were planning to stay around longer don't mind getting a bit of extra time back in their day. If anything changes and I can accommodate a longer extended practice time, I will let everyone know.
