Humber Valley Sharks Tournament
The U9 Gold Wolves showed they could compete with the best of the best in Toronto!

The U9 Wolves Gold proved they are fierce with a never give up attitude and compete that are second to none.

The Wolves stormed in, literally, on Friday Feb 25 with a battle against the Hamilton Bulldogs AAA U9 team.  Unfortunately the Wolves went down a quick 5 goals to the fiery Dogs.  But, the Wolves regrouped and didn't allow the Bulldogs to get a shot in the second, while we potted a goal.  Going into the third, a very similar result limiting and outplaying the Bulldogs going up another couple with just not enough time. Outshooting our opponents 16-8.

We met the top team in TO, The Duffield Devils, who have not lost a game ever.  The Wolves held off the powerful Devils to a 3-0 game until the floodgates opened in the latter part of the game, losing 11-1.

Saturday, was a turning point for the Wolves.  We were leading the Humber Valley Sharks 2-0 with the host team making an incredible push in the final frame of the game to win a heartbreaker 3-2.
The Wolves rebounded with a game shortly after against the Vaughan Rangers.  Very similar game, while the Wolves were up 2-0, the Rangers came back to tie it late in the game and both teams settled with a 2-2 tie.

Whenever you get to play on Sunday, that is a great sign.  We got to face again, the Vaughan Rangers in our final.  We took it to the speedy Rangers 2-0 and never looked back.  Winning 4th place and a medal in a tourney that was targeted to AAA teams, the Wolves arrived and left as a team, a family, a pack of Wolves that are to be reckoned with.

We outshot our opponents 68-66.  If you take out the over powerful Devils, we outshot our opponents 62-39.  Something to be very proud of with the team's bright future.
Congrats on the success Wolves!
