MD Minor Bantam vs Woodstock Jr Navy Vets
Submitted By Mike Willson on Saturday, November 9, 2019
Waterloo celebrates remembrance day a bit early with a 7 - 0 win over the Jr Navy Vets.

The wolves snapped a two game losing streak and got back on the winning track. 45 seconds into the first period, Jacob Tauer picked up the loose puck on the opening faceoff that allowed Hayden Taylor to open the scoring and set the tone of the game. Nearly 4 minutes later, Hayden returned the favour as he fed Andrew Zulawski-Dayeh the puck in front of the Vet's net making it 2 - 0.

Mid way through the second, Waterloo got their first chance on the power play due to a slashing call against Woodstock. The team set up the perimeter very nicely as they worked the puck around. The team went up 3 - 0 on a power play goal by Calvin Witt with Hunter McMurdo and Ian Cole assisting. 20 seconds later Nathan Edwards received a pass from Hayden Taylor and Jacob Tauer. Waterloo closed out the second period with a another power play goal from Luke Young as he blasted the puck from the blue line at the 28 second mark giving Waterloo a 5 - 0 lead.

Waterloo kept up the frontal assault on Woodstock as Enoch Banjo fought off three Vets and waltzed in all alone to make it 6 - 0. Wolves netminder Cole Matthews had to stay sharp as Woodstock came up with a small offensive barrage of their own. The wolves lobbed the final grenade into Woodstock's net when Andrew Zulawski-Dayeh picked up his second goal of the game and made it 7 - 0. Waterloo did not allow the Vets entry into the offensive zone preserving the shutout victory.

Solid game boys, good luck next weekend against the London Hawks.
