MD Minor Bantam White vs Cambridge Hawks
Submitted By Mike Willson on Sunday, October 27, 2019
The Wolves handily plucked the Hawk's tail feathers 5 to 1 at the park.

Waterloo had blood in their fangs when they took to the ice in early evening action. The wolves and the hawks were embroiled in a fierce back and forth attack against each other. Logan Van Cromvoirt had to be extra sharp when he came up with a couple of beauty snares with the leather to keep Cambridge off the scoreboard. Neither team relented on chances to open the scoring until Hayden Taylor received the pass from Andrew Zulawski-Dayeh. Hayden slammed the puck into the net with .03 seconds left in the period.

The Hawks finally sunk their talons into the Wolves shortly into the second frame which tied the score at one a piece. The Wolves started to take control of the match and dominated most the play for the rest of the period. Logan further slammed the door and promptly turned the lock on Cambridge making a series of stops during a mad scramble in front of the net. The boys went up 2 - 1 when Jacob Tauer and Ian Cole setup Keelan Ropp in front of the Hawk's net late in the second.

Waterloo's defense shut down the Hawks in the third. Hunter McMurdo gave the boys an insurance marker at the 9 minute mark of the period on an unassisted rush up the ice. On the ensuing faceoff, just 7 seconds later, Lucas Skanes picked up the puck, rushed past the defense and spotted Hayden Taylor driving toward the net on the off side. Hayden picked up his second goal of the game giving Waterloo a 4 - 1 lead. With 4 minutes to play in the game, Cambridge pulled their netminder in a effort to score a goal or two. Waterloo easily handled the 6 on 5 as they kept the hawks to the outside while the defense blocked anything thrown at the net. Hunter McMurdo sunk the final fangs into the dead hawk's carcass with an empty netter to ensure the victory.

Great game boys, excellent all round team effort moving the puck and passing it around. Good luck on Sunday against the London Bandits.
