We have moved everyone to specific positions for the rest of the season. This changes how players line up on the bench and make changes during the game. Everyone has done a great job of adjusting to the new way to change on the fly! Dedicated positions also help players to play the proper position ...
We had a fantastic Christmas tournament, advancing to the semifinals before losing to the eventual tournament champion. We were 2-0-1 in the round robin, only surrendering 4 goals in 3 games - tremendous work everyone! Keep up the hard work for the new year!
During the Christmas Tournament we played a fantastic defensive game and earned a shutout! Anytime you can prevent your opponent from scoring a goal is a great accomplishment. We should always try to minimize the number of goals the opponent scores.
We have now played a few games in a row with no penalties. Penalties put our team at a disadvantage and can sometimes result in scoring chances for the other team. Some penalties can also be dangerous and someone could get hurt. Playing clean hockey with no penalties is the best way to play hockey. ...
In our last regular season game before Christmas, we played an entire game without recording an offside. When a team goes offside it stops the play and can sometimes stop a good scoring chance. Great work North Stars!

We have scored a few goals lately that featured great passing, and a couple of them had ...

During the game there ...
One of the things we talked about before our game on October 15 was that the boards were safer than the middle of the ice in our own zone. Several times during the game the boys did a great job of shooting the puck off of the boards and out of our zone. Great work guys!
A new rule for novice players, an offside occurs when the puck enters the offensive zone after an attacking player. Players are able to "tag up" by exiting the offensive zone before playing the puck. Once all attacking players have tagged up, they are free to enter the offensive zone and play the ...
A new rule for novice players, changing on the fly means changing players without a whistle to stop the play.
At our game on October 8th, our first game of the season, we were able to successfully complete a change on the fly. Great work guys!
