U15AA Head Coach with the Waterloo Wolves
How many years have you been coaching hockey?

What Coaching Certifications/Qualifications do you have?
DS1, Skills 1, Skating 1, Effective Team Leadership, Communicating Effectively, Emergency First Aid and CPR, Making Ethical Decisions
What is your playing experience?
Started playing at age 5; Player until 16-17 when a knee injury ended my chances to play Junior

Why did you become a hockey coach?
Started when college friends from my residence asked me to come and coach them. My minor hockey coaching started a couple of years later when a friend's Dad asked me to help him. From there, my love for the game was rekindled.
What's your Coaching Philosophy/Approach?
The game must be fun. I believe strongly in hard work and a team first approach. Every player must feel like they have value as part of the team.

Canadian Classic involves so many individual skills and tactics.

What do you enjoy doing away from the rink?
Canoeing, kayaking, building all sorts of stuff with my vast tools.

So many movies! 🎬 Top 3: Monty Python Quest for the Holy Grail, A Knights Tail, Gangs of New York. 📖:Playing With Fire.

Never ate before a game.

Love a lot of music - depends on the day, but mostly Country, especially Luke Combs.

Work hard and have fun!
Anything else you would like to share about yourself?
I am a non-parent Coach. My wife and I were unsuccessful in having children. The kids we have coached over the years are all special to us!
