Registration Requirements

Proof of Age
ALLIANCE Hockey requires all participants to provide proof of age. Parents will need to submit a copy of their child's birth certificate or passport (health cards are not acceptable) the first time they register with WMHA.

You may submit a copy by emailing a scanned copy to [email protected] or in-person at the WMHA office during
office hours.

Proof of age must be submitted prior to the start of evaluations.

You need only provide proof of age once. The verification will be entered into your child's Hockey Canada Registry record.

Player Transfers
If your child played hockey with another organization last season OR your family will be moving to Waterloo, please contact your last Association to initiate a Transfer.

Parent "Respect In Sport" Course

At least one (1) parent or guardian of each player registered with WMHA must complete the online Respect in Sport Parent Program as a condition of participation.  The program is a proactive, educational program that empowers parents with the tools to ensure the game is enjoyable and respectful for themselves, their children and all other stakeholders in the game.

Players cannot participate in any WMHA activities, including evaluations until the Parent Respect in Sport Program is completed. Completion of the Respect in Sport for Coaches/Activity Leaders does not satisfy this requirement. Fee for the course is $12.00.

You can access the course here:  Online Parent Respect Program

You only need to take the program once—it does not expire.

If you are registering a child for the first time but have taken the program for another child, remember to add the child to your Respect in Sport account by way of their Child Management tab after you register them for the first time.

Program Schedule

WMHA House League runs a weekend program with practices and games for most age groups played on Saturday and/or Sunday from October to March. Our program schedule (practice and game schedule) is finalized in September and will be posted on our website.

Evaluation Games

The season will begin in mid-September. The first three (3) sessions are evaluations ice times during which League convenors and coaches continue evaluate players and teams to ensure a balanced division. All players must attend evaluation games to ensure balanced teams. The exact dates and a detailed schedule will be posted on our website in early September.

After the evaluations, the applicable Rec Director meets with the League convenors and coaches to balance the division's teams. Players may be traded between teams at any time prior to November 1st.
