Tough Weekend for Waterloo White
Waterloo White had a tough weekend, facing Kitchener Jr Rangers Red and Waterloo Black. Two tough teams who always give the Wolves a run for their money...and this weekend would be no different.

With two home games, Waterloo White hoped to use the home ice as an advantage as they faced Kitchener Red. During the first two periods Waterloo looked a little flat, possibly due to a late Friday practice, or sick and injured players. Whatever the reason, it was clear that the Wolves would need to dig deep in the third period to demonstrate their full potential. As the third period began, Waterloo showed more grit, determination and passion for the game. With some great passes and shots on net, the Wolves were making a push to see the score sheet. Kitchener was just one goal up on the Wolves and Waterloo could taste a victory; however, Kitchener remained strong. In the dying seconds, the Wolves pulled their goalie and crashed the Jr. Rangers zone. A great shot was deflected making it way down the ice and just slipped past the Waterloo defence to make the final score 2-0 for Kitchener Jr. Rangers Red. White finding themselves outshot 30-12.
Sunday evening Wolves White faced up against their partners, Waterloo Black for what would prove to be an exciting match up. It was clear from the beginning that both teams wanted the win but only one could earn the two points. During the first period #7 Williams impressed the home crowd as he rushed the net, taking a quick shot that got past the Waterloo Black goalie. The second period was an equal battle between the teams as the defence made every attempt to hold the blue line and protect the net and the forwards pushed into scoring range. However, no shots were able to get past the quick skills of the Waterloo goalies.  During the third period both teams pulled out all the stops: sharp passes, quick shots, agressive on the puck and player while also positioning themselves well. In the final seconds, Waterloo White made the decision to pull their goalie giving them the man advantage. In the first moments, #66 Anderson used speed, agility and passion to sneak one past Waterloo Black's goalie. With a 3-2 score and 45 seconds remaining, White would need to dig deep to find one more goal for the tie. Defence played a spectacular final few seconds, shutting down shots on net and clearing the zone. The forwards made every attempt to put just one more goal into the Waterloo Black net but it just wasn't meant to be. With a final score of 3-2 Waterloo White was outshot 28-27. That one shot making the difference. Congratulations to Waterloo Black and until next time, as White creates a practice plan to prepare for future wins!
