Why did you become a hockey coach? 
I felt I could share my knowledge and experience effectively with the players to help them develop.

What's your Coaching Philosophy/Approach? 
Understanding the players level and increasing that every time we're on the ice.

Guiding athletes to develop both their skills and character has always been my priority. Having the opportunity to coach my own children—my daughter in softball and my sons in hockey—has been a wonderful bonus along the way.   What's your Coaching Philosophy/Approach? I build my teams on work ethic, character, and skill—each equally important to success. The puzzle begins in the dressing room, where culture and commitment set the foundation. I expect every player to bring their best effort to every practice and every game. What is your playing history? 45+ years, Competitive as a youth and Men’s League as a washed up former youth player

Why did you become a hockey coach? 
A Select team needed a coach 4 years ago so I stepped up to do my part. Glad I did as I love coaching.

What's your Coaching Philosophy/Approach?  
I focus on 3 main thing in my approach: 1) helping youth develop as players on ice and as good community citizens off the ice; 2) while playing, DIG (Details, Intensity, Grit); and 3) to Love the game of hockey so they want to keep playing for the rest of their life.

Fishing, Hunting and spending time at my cottage with my boys.

What's one piece of advice you'd give your players? 
Try your best and don’t be afraid to fail; failure can help build resilience which is key to future success.

Anything else you’d like to share about yourself? 
I am a Professor and Researcher at the University of Waterloo and I lead the world’s largest research study focused on youth health. I am also a 2-time cancer survivor and current cancer patient yet again, so I know a lot about resilience.
