π General Player Movement Questions
π Can my child try out for teams at any Minor Hockey Association?
β
Yes! Players can attend tryouts at different Associations. While Associations can set internal restrictions on external players attending their programming, they cannot prevent a player from leaving. This policy impacts players in the U10 to U18 age groups.
π Do I need a Permission to Skate (PTS) form or any type of paperwork to attend tryouts with Waterloo Minor Hockey?
β No! Permission to Skate forms are not required to attend tryouts at any minor hockey Centre. You only need to register for tryouts to be eligible.
π Are players required to be given three evaluation skates before they can be released?
β No! There is no requirement for a player to be provided with three evaluations before release. Additionally, there is no minimum number of evaluations a player must attend before trying out elsewhere
π Do players need to register in advance for evaluations?
β
Yes! All players must be registered and have paid for player evaluations before they can attend and be offered a spot on a team
π Will I need a release from my current home centre to register for tryouts?
Players will automatically remain registered with their 2024-2025 team until:
-
U13 & below β‘ April 19 at 12:00:01 AM
-
U14 & above β‘ April 21 at 12:00:01 AM
After that, they are automatically released and no further action is required (no additional paperwork is required to attend tryouts outside of your home association - you only need to register for tryouts).
