Ethan Hay Wins Memorial Cup with Saginaw
Congratulations to Wolves alumni Ethan Hay (U16 AAA '20-'21) on winning the 2024 Memorial Cup with the Saginaw Spirit!

Hay and the Spirit defeated the OHL champions London Knights 4-3 in Sunday's final.

The Spirit were granted the hosting duties of this years Memorial Cup and they did not disappoint. A 2-1 record in the round robin set up a semi-final matchup against the WHL champions Moose Jaw Warriors. Hay recorded 2 goals and 2 assists in the semis, leading the Spirit to a 7-1 victory.

In the final, the Spirit got out to an early 3-0 lead but saw London storm back to tie the game in the third. With 21 seconds left, Saginaw's Josh Bloom scored to put the Spirit up 4-3, clinching the franchises first Memorial Cup Championship.

Hay was traded to the Spirit from the Flint Firebirds earlier this year and went on to record 21 points in a Spirit jersey.

Hay was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft in the 7th round, 211th overall.

Congratulations on an incredible achievement!
