WMHA Accepting Rep Coach Applications for the 2024-25 Season
WHMA is now accepting applications to coach REP (AAA, AA/A Seeded, BB/B) for teams
from U10 to U18.
Here are the deadlines for applications:
AAA - by December 15, 2023
AA - by January 15, 2024
BB - by January 31, 2024
**U8 and U9 MD application information will be posted in January 2024
The key to team success is coaching. We look for experienced coaches that are capable of managing all facets of a busy hockey team and season, the commitment is extensive. The WMHA Rep Committee and Board will make the decisions regarding the coaching positions. The Rep Committee employs a consensus-building approach to the selection process (please refer to the Coach Selection page in REP Manual). Voting takes place as necessary.
Applicants are asked to complete the online form available at the link below. Additional emails to committee members are strongly discouraged. The application has a number of detailed questions and you are encouraged to thoughtfully answer each item.
Selecting coaches is a time-consuming endeavor with the committee spending as much time as necessary to find the most qualified and capable individual for a particular team.
All members of a Coaching Staff (Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Trainer, and Manager) must ultimately be approved by the WMHA Board of Directors.
Coach Certification Requirements:
AAA Coaches applying for U10 and U13 teams must have or be willing to acquire a minimum of D1 certification (2 day training course).
AAA Coaches applying for U14 or U18 teams must have or be willing to acquire the HP1 certification (1 week training course).
All Coaches require their Respect-In-Sport, Gender Identity, as well as a current Vulnerable Sector Check/Police Check.
