Submitted By WMHA on Sunday, November 7, 2021
Congratulations to Waterloo Wolves alumnus Beau Akey on being selected to the Team CANADA U17 roster for the newly formed Hockey Canada Capital City Challenge!!

The Capital City Challenge will serve as a one-time event to replace the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, which was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Preliminary-round action kicks off on Friday, November 26th at TD Place Arena and concludes on Monday, November 29th, followed by the semifinals on Tuesday, November 30th.

The medal games are set to take place on Wednesday, December 1st.

Drafted in the 1st Round of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection by the Barrie Colts, Akey has appeared in 9 of 10 Colts games this season while registering one assist and leading all first-year defensemen in shots on goal.
