Mark Schneider Memorial Bursary
Submitted By WMHA on Mon 07 08, 19
Thanks to the generosity of his mother and late father, this bursary has been established in Mark Schneider’s memory to provide fee assistance covering the recreational hockey base registration for one (1) player in the Major Bantam division and one (1) player in the Minor Midget division each season.

All players at the Major Bantam and Minor Midget divisions who have registered by  August 1, 2019 are eligible to receive the bursary.

Mark joined Waterloo Minor Hockey at the age of 15, playing with other kids who had likely been on the ice for years. His final year, at the age of 17, he took on the challenging position of goalie. Tragically, Mark passed away in a car accident May 6, 2007 at the age of 17. Mark approached hockey with the same tenacity and enthusiasm he lived his so very short life.   Our goal is to provide the means for two (2) deserving young players to follow their passion and experience all the positive benefits of this team sport in Mark’s memory.

Recipients will be selected by lottery and announced each year at WMHA’s Annual General Meeting in September.
