Mountain Wolves vs Cambridge Hawks Red
On a night where the Superbowl should have been the main sporting event, it was the Mountain Wolves and the Cambridge Hawks Red that took centre stage. In front of a sold out crowd at the Preston Memorial Auditorium, it was the Mountain Wolves edging out Cambridge 3 -2 in a classic nailbitter!

The Hawks opened the scoring in the first period on a power play goal sending a strong message to the Mountain Wolves. Quade Willson stormed right back up the ice on a break way only to hit the crossbar.

Cole Hunsberger tied the game at 5:04 of the first after Owen McCleod let one rip from the face off circle finding its way onto Cole's stick.

Shortly after the second period started, the Hawks got the go ahead marker on a screen shot from the blue line. The Wolves fought hard all period. Cole Tiegs nearly scored on a 20 foot high backhand shot at the net. The puck was inches away from coming down into the net. With 1:15 left in the second, Quade Willson dumped the puck to an open Thomas Chan at the side of the net who slammed the puck in making it 2 - 2.

Super goalie, Blake McCleod stood on his head for the rest of the game stopping breakaway, after breakaway, after breakaway by the Hawks. They could not seem to figure out how to get the puck past him.

With three minutes left in the game, Cole Hunsberger passed the puck back to his defenseman, Jake Patterson, who took the shot from just inside the blue line and found its way into the net.

This game had everyone on the edge of their seats as both teams went back and forth all game long. Great game boys. Way to keep the game scoring streak alive. Get ready for the Burlington Bulldogs Red next Sunday.
