MINOR MIDGET ALUMNIS BROCK PHILIPS MAKES OHL DEBUT
Former Waterloo Minor Midget AAA player Brock Philips (1998 Born) has committed to the Guelph Storm and made OHL debut.
The Waterloo Minor Midget Program would like to congratulate Brock Philips

Guelph, ON - Storm General Manager Mike Kelly has announced that the team has received a commitment from defenceman Brock Philips.Philips, a 6'5", 205lb defenseman from Fergus, ON, was selected by the Storm in the fifth round (100th overall) of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection.



 

"We are very pleased that Brock has decided to develop his considerable hockey and academic potential as a member of the Guelph Storm," said Kelly. 

"Both Regan Stocco and myself have followed Brock throughout this season, and we are very confident that he is going to develop into an above-average OHL defenseman and NHL prospect."

Philips has spent this season playing with his hometown Fergus Devils (Jr. C).  In 34 games he has posted six goals and four assists, along with 125 PIM.

Philips will make his OHL debut on Sunday afternoon as the Storm visit the Mississauga Steelheads.  He will become the fifth player from the team's 2014 OHL Priority Selection to play a regular season OHL game, following Matthew Hotchkiss, Luke Burghardt, Nicolas Sicoly and Levi Tetrault.
