SPRING UPDATE
SPRING UPDATE

As we approach the end of one season, its time to look forward to the next season and provide updates on our Spring programming.

We have added a tab to our website titled "SPRING UPDATE" to capture the information about this programming - including registration information, schedules, requirements, etc. The SPRING UPDATE tab is located in the horizontal menu on our website (across the top of the main page) and will house the information required for April/May.

We will be adding individual articles on each of the programs, to provide additional information.

There will be a lot of information being released over the next few days so here are some tips on what to look for and how to navigate through the registration process.

Evaluations (tryouts)
Do you have a U10 to U16 aged player who is interested in attending Evaluations for the upcoming 2024-25 Hockey Season?

If so, you are required to register for Evaluations and purchase an Evaluation pass.

We will be hosting Evaluations for U10 to U16 aged participants, at AAA, AA/A and BB levels in April/May. The age division you are registering for, will be the age your player will be turning in 2024 (so prior to December 31, 2024).

If you unsure of the age division you should be registering for, the Hockey Canada age division breakdown for the 2024-25 Season, can be found HERE

You can register for just one level (ie - only AAA) OR all 3 levels (AAA, AA and BB) or a combination of two levels (AA/BB) - dependent on your player's eligibility.

You can register and obtain more information about the Evaluations, by CLICKING HERE

Body Checking Clinic
Is your player a skater and born in 2011? Do they plan on participating at a level (AAA or AA/A) where body checking is permitted?

Please plan on attending the WMHA Body Checking Clinic prior to evaluations.

More information on the Clinic, can be found by CLICKING HERE

Pre-Evaluation or Prep Skates
As per the Hockey Canada mandate, WMHA will be offering pre-evaluation or "prep skates" prior to the Evaluation ice times.

These prep skates are NOT part of the evaluation process and are run by external Development Professionals (no coaches from the WMHA will be participating as on ice instructors for these sessions).

These sessions are NOT MANDATORY.

The sessions are being offered for U10/U11, U12/U13 and U14/U15 skaters and goaltenders.

More information on the Pre Evaluation Skates, can be found by CLICKING HERE

Registration Information - for ALL Spring Programming

This season, we are using the SportsHeadz Registration Portal, to register participants for the above noted programs. The Portal allows ease of registration and assists in creating attendance lists with greater accuracy.

If you have used SportsHeadz in the past (maybe for the health check system during COVID or a team calendar), you do not have to register again. If you have never used the system, registration is very simple.
