Wolves post mixed results on the weekend
The competition gets tougher for the Novice MD Black team as Phase 2 of the season begins.

The Wolves were on the road on Saturday as they traveled down the 401 to meet the Woodstock Jr. Navy Vets, a team that recently moved down to Tier 2. Woodstock came out flying and put three early goals past the Wolves. This seemed to wake up the boys as they kept battling. Wyatt N. was the hardest worker of the game (and earned the hard hat) as he put one past the Navy Vet goalie with the help of Preston M. and Brian N. to keep the Wolves in it. Brian N. also chipped in with a goal of his own. Stellar goaltending was once again on display by the dynamic duo of Maguire K. and Daniel L. who made save after save. With the Waterloo net empty, the boys came up just short. An empty net goal by the Navy Vets clinched the 4-2 win.

Back on home ice on Sunday, the Wolves faced a much improved Stratford Warriors team. The boys threw shot after shot at the Warriors goaltender who made some fantastic saves. Joel V. opened the scoring with his famous backhander lifting the spirits of the team. But Matthew B. stole the show with two goals, one of which was assisted by Josh H. In the end, the Wolves managed to find a way to win 3-0. Congratulations to Matthew B. who earned the hard hat for the game.
