September 25 vs Hamilton
After a week of solid practice and their first dryland training session, the Wolves hit the ice on Sunday looking focused and ready to roll in a match-up versus the Hamilton Huskies.

The Wolves dominated the play right from the start and drove home this point with a shorthanded wraparound goal at 6:59. Keeping the pressure on the Wolves Defense took a huge shot from just inside the blue line that bounced in to make it 2-0 Wolves at 5:02. The boys kept shooting throughout the rest of the period and had some great chances including another big shot from the point. The Wolves tried to tip it in and after a scramble in front of the net, the Hamilton goalie was finally able to cover it. The Wolves had a great chance right at the buzzer and the first period ended 2-0.

Early in the second the boys went on the penalty kill. The Wolves Goalie caught a Hamilton shot quickly in his glove, making it look easy. Making a huge impact on the PK was the Wolves D, delivering perfect checks and holding the line. The Wolves had some chances and put on some great pressure during a 5-on-3, but Hamilton successfully killed both penalties. Both teams got more aggressive as the second period continued and the Wolves headed back on the penalty kill with just over 2 minutes left in the period.

The boys began the third period working hard. The physical game started to take its toll on both teams and the game slowed considerably as the clock counted down. The Wolves Goalie was a difference maker, saving more shots and earning his first shutout of the season. The final Faceoff took place in the Hamilton end with just ten seconds left and the fans cheered loudly as our team celebrated a 2-0 final. Special shout out and thank you to our APs who stepped in and helped the team achieve this victory.

The ever-so-generous tailgate team was at it again and the players were rewarded with ribs, hot dogs, and more tasty treats. It was a beautiful day for hockey!
