It was a fun night when a scheduled
“practice” turned into a surprise for the Novice Ice Wolves, when much to their
surprise (or dismay) many of their parents appeared on the ice with skates,
helmets and sticks, ready to challenge the boys to a fun game if shinny.
(written by Greg Brown) Coach Way and Coach Reesor stayed with the Ice Wolves to complete their team, while Coach Maloney joined the Senior Wolves. With Nathaniel Miloje and Mischa Stastna rotating teams as goaltenders, the game was on! After trading goals back and forth throughout the game, the Ice Wolves prevailed with an 8-7 win over the Senior Wolves. Scoring was done by committee on both teams, as no one was really paying attention to who scored, and most parents were completely out of breath and out of shape anyways.
Goal of the Game: Kyle Maloney-deaked out 3 players and the goalie.
Save of the Game: Mischa Stastna stopped a Senior Brown one-timer feed from Senior Schnarr, then proceeded to keep the sliding Senior Brown out of the net, as Brown obviously didn’t know how to stop.
Assist of the Game: Every time Senior Washkurak flipped his stick upside down to let the Ice Wolves get by.
Dirty Play of the Game: Coach Reesor making the parent team stay on the ice for 6 minute shifts!

Scott Baird helped the Seniors with doors and made fun of them most of the time. Also, thanks to all the siblings who joined in on the fun game.
