Bradford Blue and Gold Champions
Congratulations to the Waterloo Wolves Minor PeeWee MD Black team for their win today, against Cambridge Hawks, earning them a first place finish in the Bradford Blue and Gold for 2017. The boys played a solid game of defence, keeping the puck out of our zone for a good portion of the game. The forwards also put the pressure on and were on the attack keeping it in the Cambridge end, allowing for numerous shots on net. The team effort was what gave the Wolves the edge during this entire tournament.
After a great weekend of team building and positive play, the team took home the gold medal. Congratulations to the coaches for a fantastic weekend. Your leadership and direction helped the team to victory. Well done also to our goalies for four shutouts. You stayed focused and poised, ready for play.
Players of the Game were awarded today to three young men:
Malcolm, #68, was recognized for his positive attitude and great team play. He showed great team spirit and encouraged his teammates throughout the entire weekend.
Hancock, #22, for his hustle up the ice, accurate passing skills to set up for a goal as well as his own shooting accuracy, and
Langlois, #77, great pressure on defence, even when playing with an injury for the entire tournament. Your devotion to the team is noteworthy.
