Welcome To 2023-24 U13 BB Wolves Tryouts!
Hello Prospective U13 BB Wolves!
We are excited to get our 2023-24 team selected! Please note that all communication will be done through our team website. Here are a few items to take note of:
Registration
- All players MUST be residents of Waterloo and be registered and paid with Waterloo Minor Hockey ahead of the tryout or else the player CANNOT go on the ice.
Schedule
- Prior to leaving your home for the rink, we suggest you double check the WMH website to confirm that there has been no change to the location of the tryout. Just this past week there was a last minute location change for the U13 AA/A tryout.
- Please arrive at least 45 minutes before the first tryout to sign in at the desk and receive your practice jersey.
Tuesday May 9th - 5:00pm to 6:30pm @ Waterloo Rec Complex - Skills Session
Thursday May 11th - 5:00pm to 6:30pm @ RIM Park, Pillers Rink - Exhibition Game, Black vs Gold
Saturday May 13th - 3:30pm @ RIM Park, Pillers Rink - Exhibition Game vs Woodstock Jr Navy Vets
Sunday May 14th - 3:30pm @ Hespeler Arena - Exhibition Game vs Cambridge Hawks
Releases
- Releases will occur after the Black vs Gold game and posted online. Releases will then occur after the two exhibition games as well.
- Only those players continuing on in the tryouts will be listed.
- If you would like feedback on your players release, please wait 72 hours after the final team has been posted prior to contacting the coaches.
- Please remember that we coaches are tasked with choosing the most complete team. Releasing players is not a fun part of the job, but it is a necessary requirement.
- Selecting this team is going to be as challenging as ever and we apologize in advance for breaking the hearts of players who are note chosen for this team.
Season At A Glance
- The budget will be roughly $2,000 per player.
- Between practices and games, we are anticipating being on the ice a minimum of 3 to 4 times per week. We understand that a player may need to miss a practice or even a game here or there due to 'life' happening however it is our expectation that players making this team will be at every ice time / team function.
- Our tentative tournaments are as follows:
Oct 13 thru 15 - Cambridge Early Bird, Cambridge Ontario
Dec 8 thru 10 - Silver Stick, Chatham Ontario
Dec 27 thru 30 - Wayne Gretzky International, Brantford Ontario
Jan 19 thru 21 OR/ Feb 23 thru 25 - Gene Harrington Winter Ice Experience OR/ Gene Harrington Falls Classic, Buffalo New York
- Assuming our season is as successful as we hope it will, there is also a Silver Stick Championship tournament and the Alliance Championship tournament that we will be part of.
