Waterloo Major Atom MD Wolves are Hespeler Early-Bird Champions!
With 6 new members of the Major Atom MD Wolves team this season, the boys went straight to work this weekend getting to know each other at the Hespeler Early-bird tournament...


The coaching staff from last season has observed that this team has a uniquely different style.  However, the two teams share key features - their desire to compete and their willingness to push themselves to the limit.  The boys went the distance, winning 6 games, with the championship victory coming in a great match against a strong squad from Guelph.  Colton T lead the way in scoring for the tournament, followed by Callum T, Eason Y, Hunter M, Wyatt N, Nash M, Preston M, Luca S and Caden B.  Preston M was our assist specialist.  It’s important to recognize our D, who broke up rush after rush, and generally made it hard for our opponents to spend time in our end.  They don’t always get as much glory as the forwards, but they more than deserve it.  A special mention to Luca S who made the switch from Center to D – he has picked up the position with ease.

Of course, there’s no hope of a tournament championship without our boys between the pipes.  Daniel L and Josh C both showed up for battle and took no prisoners!  It's a joy to watch these two calm, well-trained craftsmen at work.  

Gentlemen, you’ve earned this championship.  As we turn our attention to the season ahead, the coaches are looking forward to helping this young, talented group of boys develop.
