Hello Wild Wolves!
Thank you for attending evaluations this weekend. We were able to build teams last tonight and that means we can get started with a practice next weekend instead of a third evaluation.
There are a ton of changes for house league this year and they sound really great - from getting home and away jerseys, to music playing between whistles, to player of the month awards (with a chance to win a box at a Rangers game), as well as playing exhibition games against Cambridge as part of our schedule. It should be a blast.
Our coaching staff consists of Matt Buchwald (assistant coach), Paul St. Pierre (trainer), and myself. Matt and Paul are people you probably recognize as they've been volunteering for many years with various teams. I'm happy to step up as the head coach of the team this year after working with both Matt and Paul last year. I've coached a wide range of levels, from pre-tyke to Midget, from house league to AA (including an OHF championship) but I honestly like house league more than coaching any rep team. There is no pressure, the boys can have a great time with each other, and ultimately learn more about hockey. Our goal this year is to have fun, learn some skills, and make hockey a sport that our kids want to play for a long time.
